Nuclear Power Plant Tricastin, France
International Foreign Material Exclusion workshop and Experience Exchange Meeting
Dear Vendors,
It is our pleasure to invite you to the next International Foreign Material Exclusion Workshop, hosted by EDF Tricastin Nuclear Power Plant in France from 31st March to 4th April 2025.
The scope of this workshop is to improve FME program performance in the nuclear industry by sharing FME good practices and operating experience. Debris contributes to a significant percentage of nuclear fuel failures. In addition to fuel failures, foreign material has resulted in failures to critical equipment, has reduced overall unit reliability, and directly contributed to reduced power plant capacity factors.
Vendors have always been an important part of the global effort to control foreign material in the nuclear industry. Without your support and services, many of the solutions and efforts currently in use would not exist. To allow our members and industry participants an opportunity to identify and compare various FME tools, devices and services currently available or under development, we will conduct a vendor fair Wednesday April 2nd through Thursday April 3rd, 2025. This will be in a location separate from the meeting room.
Vendors will be provided the opportunity to present an operating experience, such as changes made after an issue with an existing product, or a specific solution being identified for a customer need. Please let us know if you want to present a case study. This is not a sales presentation.
Registration is required by the 1st March, 2025. Participation in the vendor fair requires a registration fee of USD $520 per company, which includes 1 attendee. Additional attendees will require an additional fee of USD $105 per attendee.
The purpose of this workshop is to support the continued work of the FME International Peer Group, and to continue the practice of information exchange among FME Coordinators and important international stakeholders.
The workshop agenda will include the following topics:
- European and international FME process successes and challenges
- Station-specific operating experience (OPEX) to convey causes and contributors to FME events including human or organizational performance and planning issues
- Keys to program success, (for example, effective leadership at all levels, corrective action program use, performance improvement methods)
- FME-plan (practical examples or practice)
- Question-and-Answer support for newly assigned FME coordinators
- Case study and solutions from vendors for specific problems and questions
